Four world-class networking and information sharing events focusing on business opportunities in Africa

1. 18th Annual Indaba Evening - October 31, 2019 - evening

This is the premier African business networking event on the Canadian calendar featuring a who's who of senior business executives and government officials active, or interested, in Africa. Our 2019 keynote speaker is Dr. Patricia Makhesha, Executive Chairperson, Ivanplats and Executive Vice President for Sustainability, Ivanhoe Mines.

Our Indaba evening features a high-level networking reception with an informal wine tasting and incredible African cuisine (food stations and hand-passed selections). The evening will be a celebration of our 25th anniversary, a combination of fun, food and excellent networking opportunities with leading business and community leaders active in Africa.

2. 4th Doing Business in Africa Today seminar - October 29, 2019

This afternoon seminar will cover the reality of doing business in Africa in 2019 including presentations and panel discussions on the opportunities from EY's September 2019 Africa Report, Canada's "secret weapon" in Africa, Africa's diversity advantage, and opportunities for Canadians arising from The Chamber's inaugural business conference held in Africa in March 2019.

3. 4th Infrastructure in Africa: Power, Technology and Mining seminar - October 30, 2019

Infrastructure is crucial to the socio-economic development of all emerging economies, and particularly Africa and the natural resources sector. This seminar with Global Affairs Canada and Power Africa will focus on infrastructure opportunities arising from The Chamber's inaugural business conference held in Africa in March 2019, municipal infrastructure and alternative energy opportunities for Canadians in Africa.

4. Spotlight Lesotho: brought to you by Southern Sky - October 30, 2019

Meet the Prime Minister of Lesotho, five Ministers and 25 business leaders and learn about trade and investment opportunities in The Kingdom of Lesotho in this special afternoon session.

5. Natural Resource Development: The Success Template for Canadian Firms - October 31, 2019

Canadian mining companies have been the greatest success stories in the socio-economic development of Africa. This afternoon seminar will profile these companies, what made them successful in Africa and what lessons can be learned for other Canadian companies in other sectors, particularly agriculture and agro-processing. Sessions will include the financing of projects as well as understanding the regulatory environment around opportunities in Africa.
